JInspire Women’s Winter Leadership Retreat took place from December 8-10 in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. The concept was to unite Jewish women of all different backgrounds within three days. Can this concept work? Can a group of strangers share moments of inspiration and moments of fun? Some ladies came with friends but the majority of us did not. From the moment we landed in Florida, the friendships were starting. One participant brought two bags of candy to share amongst everyone. The trip started with sweetness and continued with inspiration.
Yoga on the beach followed by one on one learning study groups started off the mornings. The beauty of study groups was the opportunity to connect with people on a different level. The afternoons were filled with fun activities including watersports and a spa experience and the evenings ended with a gourmet BBQ poolside and tex mex dinner. Friendship, Torah wisdom, fun activities and delicious food was our itinerary. We did this for three glorious days.
On our last day there was a closing banquet. A few ladies shared their reflections from the trip. Hearts were opened and connections were formed. The ability to let go of our lives and allow JInspire to take care of all our physical and spiritual needs was cathartic. There’s nothing quite like this experience; an opportunity to forge close friendships, to relax and pamper the body, while igniting the soul. The trip may be over, but we are left with an incredible bonding experience, a spiritual awakening, and memories that will last a lifetime.
